Residents of Kapchesombe in Kapchorwa municipality East division are crying out to leaders over the deplorable state of the road connecting East division to the central business district. The road has become impassable due to heavy downpours, affecting transportation and business.
Mr. Chemonges Joseph, a resident, expressed disappointment and blamed leaders, including Hon. Chemutai Phyllis, for neglecting the road. He emphasized that the road is crucial for the municipality’s food supply and economic activities.
An accident which occurred today involving Fanis Chemonges, a business woman selling greens, highlighted the urgency of the situation. Fanis fell and possibly broke her arm while traveling to sell her produce. She blamed leaders for not repairing the road, which could have prevented the accident.
Lillian, who witnessed Fanis’ fall, appealed to leaders to address the issue, stating that good road conditions could have avoided the incident. The poor state of most roads in Kapchorwa municipality has been exacerbated by the rains, causing difficulties for residents.
Residents are urging leaders to take action and repair the roads to prevent further accidents and economic hardship.
