T’oo County beats Kongasis county in interschool debate

The Bukwo District Education Department has initiated a debate and quizzes program to enhance children’s critical thinking and communication skills. This innovative approach combines intellectual competitions with ball games, promoting a holistic development experience.

The contest follows a hierarchical structure, starting from school level, progressing to sub-county, Greater sub-county, county, and culminating at the District level. Yesterday’s exciting contest, held at Amanang SS main Hall, brought together Too County (represented by Kamokoyon Primary School) and Kongasis County (represented by Bukwo Primary School).

In the debates, Bukwo PS secured 75 points, edging out Kamokoyon PS with 69 points. However, in the quizzes segment, Kamokoyon PS took the lead with 10 points, while Bukwo PS scored 6 points.

Despite the quizzes setback, Kongasis County (Bukwo PS) emerged victorious, amassing an overall score of 81 points against Too County’s (Kamokoyon PS) 79 points.

The occasion was graced by the District Secretary for Social Services, Ms. Irene Chebet and others.

This commendable initiative by the Bukwo District Education Department is nurturing young minds, preparing them for future challenges, and fostering a culture of intellectual curiosity and friendly competition.
