Sipi town council PDM beneficiaries to wait a bit longer as leaders are set to hold AGM

The residents of Sipi town council are to wait a bit longer as the district PDM leadership is set to hold an annual General meeting (AGM).

The residents complained that the second phase of PDM funds were released, however the Sub-County had failed to disburse the funds to them.

This publication made inquiries about the delay of the funds. The Sipi town council leadership revealed that the money was released in June, however the district commercial officer had not cleared them to disburse the funds .

We spoke on the phone with Mrs Justin Jims Yeko, the commercial officer kapchorwa district who revealed that, the beneficiaries will have to wait a bit longer as they are planning to hold the Annual General Meeting (AGM).

According to justin, the PDM funds disbursements will be done immediately after the Annual General Meetings [AGMs] have been conducted.

“We need to conduct Annual General Meetings [AGMs] for each and every PDM SACCOs ( with most PDM SACCOs likely change SACCO Leadership out of the Complaints & Grievances in Communities from the past 1st Phase PDM PRF disbursement )” she said.

Further, she stated that the presentation of the Audit is a requisite requirement for a Cooperative AGM as per the Cooperative Laws & Regulations.

“The PDM Office of the District Kapchorwa is waiting for the delivery of all the Audit Reports for the 58 SACCOs from the External Auditors [ from Audit Firm that were accredited by the Registrar of Cooperatives Societies,” she added.

Justin said that once they receive the Audit Reports for the PDM SACCOs from the External Auditor in Kampala, they will immediately schedule the AGM Meetings for the PDM SACCOs.

“Once we have these Audit Reports the AGMs will take off , WENDI Digital Wallet System Special Resolutions Approval by SACCO Leaders at the AGM & then the usual PDM PRF Disbursement process & finally money to the beneficiaries through the WENDI phone Digital Wallet,” she added.

She noted that the Citizens of Kapchorwa Area will duly be informed of the AGM Programmes through their Local Radio & Media Platforms.
