Uganda House in Nairobi, Kenya, on Tuesday caught on fire amid widespread protests against proposed tax increases.
The building, which had recently undergone significant renovations, was engulfed in flames amid protests across the city.
According to Mr. Danstan Omari a city lawyer with offices in the building, the fire was caused by a teargas cannister that was thrown inside the building.

The Uganda House building, which is located at the intersection of Kenyatta Avenue and Standard Street also houses the Ugandan Embassy to Kenya.
The unrest in Nairobi was part of a larger movement against a contentious Finance Bill that includes significant tax hikes.
Despite some concessions from the government, such as retracting taxes on bread and sanitary pads, the overall dissatisfaction remains high, leading to violent confrontations with law enforcement.
