Malawi Vice President Saulos Chilima was Planning to Vie For Presidency in Next Year Elections.Was He Killed?

Malawi Vice President Saulos Chilima was planning to vie for the presidency in the next year’s general elections.

Unfortunately, his plane carrying him and nine others went missing on June 10, 2024, and all on board were reported killed after a search and rescue operation. The millitary plane carrying Saulos Chilima crashed in Chikangawa Mountanous forest in Siningina Forest Reserve.

This incident has sparked concerns about the greed for power by most of political leaders in Africa and the potential for political manipulation through assasinations and violence.

The fact that Chilima was planning to run for president in the next election suggests that there migh be a bit of connection without ruling out doubt that his disappearance may have been politically motivated.

This is how majority of politics play out in Africa. Either through coups or political assasinations.

For example, the death of Dr. Saulo comes at the very time when the president of Malawi Lazarus Chakwera and his DP are not in good terms. Which makes it even more strange considering he was planning stand up to be his contesting boss political opponent.
