Farah Maalim, a prominent Somali-Kenyan politician known for his influential role in the Somalian political landscape, recently made a bold claim during a Somalia Twitter space event.
In January while speaking in Somali dialect, Maalim openly was openly heard boasting about not needing money because he had been in control of “hundreds of millions of dollars” during his tenure as Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Kenya.
This statement has sparked significant controversy and discussion especially on X(x.com)among Kenyans especially Gen Z who he had another push and pull over a video of their demonstration.
Majority of Kenyans say all they want is to make sure that public money is used properly and not misused. Some Kenyan’s have even called for an investigation into Maalim’s financial activities during his tenure to ensure that all dealings were conducted with integrity and transparency.
Some comments could clearly show the frustration with the allegations by the Kenyans.
Why is it all his interviews are in Somali language. Is he in our government serving interest of another nation?
