The Uganda Electral body has announced that it’s seeking to recruit at least 13,000 election officers country wide at the Sub-County and parish level ahead of 2026 general elections.
According to the commission, the body is seeking to recruit 2300 Sub-County election officers and 10717 parish electoral officers across the country.
The commission in a statement argued interested applicants to submit their hand written or typed applications not later than 4th November 2024.
Further the commission advised the applicants to clearly indicate the position they are applying for and also be specific on which area they wish to serve.
“All applicants should hand over their applications to their respective district election administrators,” the commission said.
All applicants are required to have a valid national id or a NIN before they apply. The commission noted that, the recruitment will help ensure smooth and transparent electoral operations at the grassroots level for the upcoming 2026 general elections.
This recruitment process is seen as a key step in ensuring Uganda is ready for the 2026 general elections, with capable and qualified personnel in place to oversee the electoral process across the country.
