Locals in kaserem sub-county, Tingey County, kapchorwa district have decried the poor state of murram poured on the road leading to kawowo Sub-County.
According to the residents, the murram being used on the road is not good. They further alleged that the murram was obtained for free from Quarries.
However according to the Kawowo district councilor who doubles as the councilor for works mr Linga Stephen, the people’s perception of poor murram is not true. He noted that people are used to the red murram that they know.
He further said that the very murram people are complaining was tested by the laboratory and it was proven to be the standard needed.
He also said the doubters should wait for the monitoring and evaluation team to ascertain whether it’s sub-standard or not.
Earlier, there were allegations that the district had secured the murram from quarries free of charge.
