The Bugisu Cooperative Union LTD (BCU) has taken again another heartwarming step in sponsoring over 250 students to tertiary institutions.
The good news was delivered by Barbra Wasagali, the BCU general manager on Wednesday after pinning the successful candidates on the notice board.
All the students from the nine zones under BCU zones under went through thorough assessment and selection. Further she noted that all the scholarship funds have been transferred directly to different universities.
She however encouraged farmers to continue entrusting them with their coffee.
Nathan Mabonga, the BCU Board Treasurer, noted that the bursary funds are obtained from the profits from the sale of coffee. He noted that the initiative is a way of giving back to farmers. He further noted that, over 250m Uganda shillings were allocated to students support.
He further encouraged the student beneficiaries to focus on their studies.
