At least six people were killed following Friday’s attack by Israel’s forces on Lebanese Capital Beruit. According to Aljezera, Labenese health officials noted that over 91 people were injured following Israel’s air strike.
According to the statement released by Israel’s forces, the attack was on Lebanese armed group Hezbollah.
Heavy explosions were seen in Haret Hreik neighbourhood in Dahiye, the Southern part of Beruit.
Reports indicate that the attack continued on Saturday morning forcing several people to flee.
On Saturday, Israel alleged that they had killed Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah’s leader during an air strike on Dahiyeh.
However, Hezbollah didn’t release an immediate statement pertaining to the air strike.
Israel also revealed that they have three reserved battalions of soldiers to reinforce its Central Command defence amid escalating conflict with Hezbollah in Lebanon.
“It’s been a long night of violence with near nonstop Israeli attacks targeting neighbourhoods in Beirut’s southern suburbs,” Al Jazeera’s Zeina Khodr reported from Beirut.
“People there are making their way out … but there is a lot of concern that this is just the beginning.”
According to Israel military forces, its attack on Friday was purposed for Iran-aligned group’s headquarters which they claimed was embedded in the residential buildings in the heart of Dahiyeh in Beirut.
