SFC shoots three dead in a love saga

A Special Force Command (SFC) officer has shot three people dead and injured two others.

The suspect has been identified as a private Bonny Ameny, aged 45, attached to UPDF Lokum detach in Agago district.

The incident happened in Ngora East village, Ngora Parish, Paimol sub county, Agago District on Sunday midnight, according to UPDF fifth infantry division spokesperson, Capt Edrin Mawanda.

He noted that, Pte Bonny escaped from his work place and went to Ngora East village where he shot five people.

“Pte Amenoy had a domestic misunderstanding with his wife identified as Angom Betty, who had abandoned him. He went on a shooting rampage while looking for the man who could have grabbed his wife,” Mawanda said.

The three people killed have been identified as Akidi Santino, 47, Apiyo Sunday, 21 and Ajalo Florence 16. Their bodies were taken to Dr.Amberossoli Memorial Hospital Kalongo for a postmortem.

The injured Apiyo Janet 20, and Kidega Charles Kumakech, 47, were rushed to Dr Amberossoli Memorial Hospital Kalongo for treatment.

The UPDF soldier is still at large on the run and he’s being hunted by the police and UPDF to be brought to book for the atrocities he has committed.

Mawanda however noted that the UPDF condemns and regrets such uncalled for behavior and pledged commitment to persue the errant officer.
