Sebei Journalist trained on human trafficking reporting

Sebei journalists were on Friday trained on human trafficking reporting. The regional media training on migration and trafficking together with kapchorwa municipality Leadership and technical team was held Friday at Noah’s Ark Resort Hotel kapchorwa .

The team was taken through the reporting of trafficking and migration organised by British council and Hope for Justice Uganda.

According to the report, carried out by the british council and hope for justice, statistics show that 15 people were trafficked in the year 2023-2024 in the Sebei region.

The reports revealed that at least 08 people were trafficked from kapchorwa district, 4 Kween District, and 03 Bukwo district totalling to 15 people.

Mr Roland Musingwire, the Data Analyst from the ministry of Internal affairs, he emphasized the local media and munipality leadership & technical team to report such vices to reduce the trafficking of persons within the region.

Musingwire, made the remarks during the workshop training that took place on 18 october 2024 in Kapchorwa district.
