Police in Kween District are hunting for a man who killed his brother over local brew (Komeek). The suspect whose names have been concealed since the issue is still under investigation allegedly killed his brother Identified as Cherotich Emmanuel.
Both are residents of Toswo village, Toswo parish, Kaptoyoy Sub-County, in Kween District.
According to Fredmark Chesang, the Sipi region police Spokesperson, the suspect and the brother were in one of the local drinking joints in Toswo village and the suspect asked the brother to buy him some local brew.
“The suspect asked the brother to buy him some local brew on Christmas Day 25th, but the brother declined which angered the suspect. He however picked an object and hit the brother on the head injuring him.”, Chesang noted.
Following the scuffle, Chesang noted that the victim was rushed to kapchorwa main hospital and was later referred to Mbale hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Chesang added that the suspect has been on the run since the day of the incident and the police are hunting for him.
