Twelve people were arrested in Tororo on December 25, 2024, during a police operation led by SP Sabila Sadak. The crackdown aimed to address the rising crime rate affecting local communities.
Mugwe Johnson Moses, the spokesperson for Bukedi South Region, stated that the suspects were linked to a series of criminal activities, including house and shop break-ins, theft of property and livestock, drug abuse, assaults, and robbery of valuable items such as phones and money.
“The suspects were apprehended in various areas, including Katerema, Uci, Amagoro, and neighboring locations,” he said.
He assured the public of the police’s commitment to combating crime through arrests and prosecutions, ensuring a peaceful and joyous festive season.
